Theatre

The Theatre Department at Tri-Cities Prep is rooted firmly in our Catholic identity and our commitment to the transformative power of storytelling.

In the Catholic tradition, storytelling has long been a means of revealing truth, beauty, and goodness—from the parables of Christ to the rich history of sacred drama. During the medieval period, liturgical dramas emerged within the Church as a way to bring scripture to life for the faithful. Mystery, miracle, and morality plays were performed in and outside of churches, telling biblical truths, recounting the lives of the saints, and teaching moral lessons through powerful, accessible storytelling. These productions were not merely entertainment; they were acts of devotion and used for community formation.

Inspired by this rich heritage, our Theatre Department seeks to carry forward the values of medieval liturgical drama into contemporary productions.

We are committed to creating performances that explore the depth of the human experience, while illuminating moral and spiritual truths. Within our close-knit school, students are known on an individual basis.

This allows us to tailor theatrical training specifically to them as they develop their creative talents. Through acting, directing, stagecraft, and dramatic literature, students grow in confidence, empathy, and imagination.

More than producing performances, our Theatre Department forms young men and women who understand the responsibility and privilege of storytelling—learning to use their gifts in ways that serve others and honor God, while preparing them to engage in the modern world with faith, courage, and a deep appreciation for the enduring power of theatre.

With gratitude,
